Why is Netflix not working?   Ways to Fix Netflix Issues and Problems – When you have the time to relax and watch movies, the last thing you don’t want to hear is your Netflix not working. However, sometimes there is some reason why your Netflix might not work properly.

Why is Netflix not working? Your Netflix App crashing

Well, we all have experienced this kind of issue at some point. It could be one of your favourite apps all of a sudden starts crashing when you want to use it. When this happens.   There are several ways to stop this when it happens but it all depends on the type of device you are using.

If you are using a smartphone and observed this, force – stopping the Netflix app is the right thing to do. If it does not work turn off the device and on it again. If it persisted, you might need to uninstall the app and reinstall it again from the app store.

For those using Netflix on their smart TV, you might be able to delete the app but rather, try to sign out of the app, clear the TV’s Cache, and then Sign in again. And for those using Netflix on desktop or macOS, disable your antivirus software might be the solution.  This is because the security software might interfere with service.

Seeing Netflix Error 12001 on Android

So many Android users have experienced this, seeing this error code 12001 when they try to use the app on their device. This issue affects both Smartphones and tablets.

These Error code 12001 problems is caused by the presence of outdated data on your device. So you have to refresh the data to get the Netflix app working again. Here is how to do this;

On your Android device > Go to settings

Navigate to apps and notifications > see all apps

Then, scroll down and Tap on the Netflix entry.

On the Netflix Sub-menu,> move to storage and cache

Then tap on clear storage and clear cache.

Netflix Error 1012 on iOS

This error code is commonly observed by iOS users. It is as a result of network connectivity issue – when your network app cannot reach the Netflix service.

This can be solved by taking troubleshooting steps to fix this issue. For instance, restarting the app, restarting your device and restarting your home network.

If you try the above and it doesn’t work, then you will have to reset the Netflix app from within the iOS setting menu by;

Go to setting > Netflix and click on the toggle next to Reset into the on position.

Ensure you close any existing Netflix sessions by pressing the Home button twice and swiping up on the Netflix app, and then re-launch Netflix.  But you will need to re-enter your login details.

Seeing a Black Screen on Desktop

If you one of those using Netflix on windows or macOS you might have seen a black screen whenever you try to play a video.

This is the primary cause of this;

Cookies: make sure you clear your cookies. This depends on the browser’s you are using because of different browser with a different instruction. But the option is mostly in the Menu setting.

Silverlight:  Microsoft had removed Silverlight years back, so if you still have it installed on the browser then you have to uninstall it. This could prevent video playback.

Antivirus: some anti-virus does not work well with Netflix. So you decide to disable this antivirus temporarily.
