NPA approves 10% discount on vessels calling at Eastern

The Management of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) has approved a 10 per cent discount on harbour dues in all concessioned terminals at the Eastern ports.
Mr. Jatto Adams, the NPA General Manager, Corporate and Strategic Communications, in an announcement issued on Tuesday in Lagos said that the discount was a piece of endeavors to build support of the Eastern ports.
As indicated by him, ports that will be affected by this activity are Calabar, Rivers and Delta Ports.
“The Authority, nonetheless, wishes to explain that this markdown will just apply to harbour levy payable by the accompanying kinds of vessels/cargoes.
“Container vessels with at any rate 250 TEUs; General cargo vessels within any event 16,000 tons; combo vessels with at any rate 16,000 tons; and RORO vessels within any event 250 units of vehicles.
“These discounts will not make a difference to vessels coming INBALLAST (void); vessels calling at private jetties; and vessels conveying liquid bulk,” Adams said.
